Barclashcame (in Irish top of the trench of the step) is similar to many of the South West Mayo mountains with grassy slopes, pristine streams and exposed tops. There are some breath-taking views of the Doolough valley, the Atlantic, Delphi, Partry Mountains, Mweelrea, Bencreggan and Tawnyard Lake. There are steep cliffs and crags on the western side of the mountain while contrasting that with the flat plateau at the top.
