Embark on an enchanting journey with a warm Céad míle fáilte awaiting you in Leenane, nestled on the shores of the majestic Killary Fjord, during the Connemara Mountain Walking Festival on the weekend of May 2nd - 4th, 2025.

Our primary objective is to provide you with an immersive experience, allowing you to discover the treasures of this vibrant community while basking in the breathtaking scenery, rich nature, captivating history, and fascinating geology along the Wild Atlantic Way. The meticulously organized walks cater to all levels of ability, enabling you to fully engage with the untamed landscape of Connemara. Our aspiration is for you to relish our region as much as we do.

Delve into the beauty of past walks through captivating footage in our online photo gallery. We are fortunate to boast a diverse pool of professional guides—highly trained mountain leaders who are not only experts in their field but are also deeply passionate about ensuring your experience is both enjoyable and memorable.

Though the festival aligns with the busy spring season for the local farm families, whose lands we traverse, many generously find time to join us on the walks, contributing to a mutually rewarding experience. We encourage walkers to connect and share in the camaraderie, as some of the most unforgettable moments in the Connemara mountains are those shared with others.

For those unfamiliar with the Irish language, a delightful challenge awaits as you attempt to pronounce the names of the mountains. Fear not, as a crash course will be provided before we embark on our adventure!

Your journey is made seamless with inclusive transportation to and from the walks, accompanied by a team of fully qualified mountain guides—several from local mountain rescue groups. The festival is comprehensively insured, and your experience is enriched with provided maps, a small souvenir, and a comforting conclusion featuring tea and scones. Immerse yourself in the magic of Connemara, where every step is a discovery and every moment is a cherished memory.
